Quakers have a long history of activism, guided by our testimonies: Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, and Equality. Here you can find ways Multnomah Friends lives our faith in the wider world.

Please join Friends and friends on Sunday, April 19 for an afternoon walk to raise funds and awareness about hunger. The route is about 3 miles, family friendly, and it starts/ends at Saint Mary’s Academy downtown. The local beneficiary of this walk’s fundraising is Northeast Emergency Food Program (part of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon). Please visit https://bit.ly/4bIMnkn to get the details.
Have you ever wondered what a Quaker guided senior living community would be like? Come and meet some friends from the Kendal Corp, who are interested in meeting us. Kendal has been a not-for-profit leader providing support to communities, programs and services that advocate for and empower older adults to achieve their full potential for about 50 years. www.kendal.org All interested Friends are invited.
Sponsored by the Northwest Quaker Israel-Palestine Network. Register at https://tinyurl.com/3ptfnj77. What is international law? Why and how was it established? How does it apply to Gaza? Paul O’Brien, Executive Director of Amnesty International, will offer insights and stimulate discussion on these topics, including recounting how Amnesty International came to its conclusion that genocide is happening in Gaza. His talk is a first step in dialogue within North Pacific Yearly Meeting about endorsement of the eight-organization document “Quakers Discern Genocide is Occurring in Gaza and Urge Courageous Action,” which both FCNL and AFSC have signed. Paul will talk and take questions from 6:30 to 7:30 Pacific. A half hour of open discussion will follow, giving Friends from NPYM an opportunity to air their questions and concerns about the proposed Yearly Meeting action.
